Preconstruction is for the moment when the project is real, but the right path is not clear yet. It brings the site, brief, drawings, approvals and build thinking into one conversation.
Use it before the expensive decisions
Many owners wait until the drawings are finished before asking a builder to look closely. By then, the design may already carry assumptions about structure, services, access, staging or budget.
Preconstruction helps test those assumptions earlier. It gives you a clearer view before you commit more time to a path that may need to change.
Make the unknowns visible
The useful work is not paperwork for its own sake. It is finding the questions that can affect the project later.
