A burger restaurant operator wanted to open on Bell Street, Coburg, in a tenancy that needed a full transformation — kitchen build, customer-facing counter, dining room, signage, and the complete brand layer. The brief was ambitious: a polished hospitality space that could anchor a late-night burger concept on a strip with established competition, near Coburg railway and opposite the Dimmey's building. The build had to deliver finishes that read as premium without losing the playful, brand-led energy that Heyburg wanted to project to its target customer — late night, casual, but distinctly designed.
Gidaya Group delivered the full fit-out top to bottom. A terrazzo look counter anchors the customer-facing zone, with the kitchen and equipment built out behind for the throughput a burger menu running into the small hours requires. Neon Hey'Burg signage glows through the floor-to-ceiling shopfront onto Bell Street, paired with a hand-painted pop-art mural that carries the brand voice along the dining wall and pink-and-white wallpaper that runs the playful Heyburg identity into every seat. Pendant lighting with exposed bulbs catches the yellow window trim, and slim brass pedestal tables with diamond-stitched leather and dark velvet seating give the room a polished hospitality feel that holds up under nightly trade.
The result is a fit-out that reads as distinctive and intentional from the street and works hard behind the counter. Heyburg now trades as a late-night Coburg burger destination, open through to 2am Thursday to Saturday — a brand-led customer-facing space built on a construction layer engineered for daily volume in one of Melbourne's most competitive inner-north food strips.
