A family on the Sunbury fringe wanted a forever home that would carry them through different stages of family life without feeling locked into a single moment in design. Their brief asked for spatial clarity, sustainability, and craftsmanship — a home that hosted easily, retreated comfortably, and held its quality without dating. The site on Eileen's Way, in an established acreage area on Melbourne's northwest fringe, gave them the room to design without compromise. They wanted a layout that supported both entertaining and quieter day to day moments, with finishes chosen for tactility and longevity rather than show.

Gidaya Group designed this bespoke home around how the family actually lives. Large open plan interiors create an immediate sense of calm, with spaces that flow into each other and out to landscaped outdoor zones, supporting both hosting and quieter moments. A warm palette of stone, timber, and soft neutrals brings an inviting tactility to each room, with subtle detailing and premium finishes carried through custom joinery throughout. A sound insulated theatre room is engineered for acoustic performance, providing a separate retreat without compromising the open plan flow elsewhere. Sustainability was central to the brief: energy efficient systems, high performance insulation, and passive design principles including passive solar orientation are embedded throughout to reduce environmental impact and future proof the home for decades.

The outcome built trust beyond the family who commissioned it. A neighbouring homeowner, after watching the build complete, commissioned Gidaya Group to build their own residence next door — proof that the work spoke for itself in the suburb where it stands.
