Description
A family in Sunbury had been renting for years in homes that never worked: rooms in the wrong spots, poor storage, no connection between living areas and outdoors, and locations far from schools and shops. They bought a block on Eileens Way in the Rosenthal precinct for its proximity to early learning centres, primary schools, and Sunbury's amenities, and wanted to build a home that finally gave them what they'd been missing. They needed dedicated spaces for different activities, proper storage, a butler's pantry that works for daily use, a theatre room for downtime, and seamless indoor outdoor connection for entertaining. The finishes needed to be elevated but practical, with quality appliances and fixtures that would last.
Gidaya Group designed this custom luxury home for adaptability and everyday function. We positioned the open plan kitchen and living zone to capture northern light throughout the day, with custom black cabinetry, engineered stone benchtops, and a butler's pantry with open shelving for easy access. Herringbone oak flooring runs throughout the ground floor, creating flow from the entry to the main living areas. A dedicated theatre room with ambient lighting provides a separate retreat. The exterior uses a rendered facade with timber batten screening at the entry and layered landscaping for a contemporary but grounded street presence.
The finishes reflect the family's priorities: brushed gold tapware, hexagonal feature tiles with gold detailing in the powder room, textured large format tiles in the bathrooms, and a custom laundry with integrated storage. Quality appliances, ducted heating and cooling, and a linear fireplace support everyday comfort. The home connects directly to outdoor spaces designed for both entertaining and daily use.
